I am a traveler seeking life experiences and adventure as I enter my retirement years. This blog has been and will continue to be my attempt to notice things and record them. I’m searching for those moments of human connection, whether as an observer or a participant, moments that speak to the humanity in all of us.

Travel writer Freya Stark said this about travel. It completely captures the magic of the experience. ” To awaken quite alone in a strange town is one of the most pleasant sensations in the world. You are surrounded by adventure. You have no idea what is in store for you, but you will, if you are wise and know the art of travel, let yourself go on the stream of the unknown and accept whatever comes in the spirit in which the gods may offer it.”

For all you readers this is my attempt to stay connected to all of you. It is my hope that this blog, at the very least, brings a smile to your face, sometimes maybe a tear or two and squeezes your heart just a bit. Mostly though I hope you’ll be inspired to broaden your own experiences, to take notice, and to lift your face to the beauty and the human connections all around you.

Lift Your face

Lift your face to the blessing

that is a cool breeze on a quiet evening

Lift your face to the joy

that is the sound of a child’s laughter

Lift your face to the wonder

that is an enchanted place inviting exploration

Lift your face to the miracles

that are all around us

Lift your face Lift your face Lift your face
